Occupational therapist who respects human dignity
Occupational therapy is a specialized field of health care that provides scientific evaluation and treatment to people with physical and mental disabilities to find meaning in life and return to home and society. The Department of Occupational Therapy at our university was first opened in the Seoul metropolitan area and produced the largest number of occupational therapists. They are now leading occupational therapy in Korea, some of them now work as a university professor after finishing their PhD. The number of industrial accidents, traffic accidents, chronic diseases such as stroke, dementia, and cancer are increasing recently. Therefore, the demand for occupational therapists is also increasing, so a future career is very bright.
Career After Graduation
- # Medical institution : university hospital, general hospital, rehabilitation hospital, nursing hospital, mental hospital
- # Community medical institutions : public health centers, general welfare centers for the disabled, dementia centers, child development centers and research institutes, rehabilitation centers, social welfare facilities
- # Government agencies : Korea Employment Promotion Agency for the Disabled, National Health Insurance Corporation, Special Education Support Center, Childcare Information Support Center, Ministry of Health and Welfare
- # Medical device business operation and assistive technology experts, professionals related to occupations for the disabled
- # Study abroad / Bachelor's degree (transfer to 4-year university, credit banking system and intensive major course)
